Regulate air temperature to keep to a certain Celsius
Our customer, world famous Tim Burton, required a perfect temperature of 20 Celsius to keep the El Laberinto de Burton immersive exhibition artwork in a good condition. The main challenge faced was the longevity of the event. Starting in September 2022 and ending April 2023, the exhibition went through varying weather seasons which could affect the condition of the artwork, located inside a temporary structure at the Espacio Ibercaja Delicias, Madrid.
It was the first time Aggreko had worked for the client, with glowing feedback from previous work at other large-scale events helping them make the decision to pick us for the weird and wonderful works of Tim Burton. Other companies were approached but none of them could contractually assure that they could maintain the consistent temperature. In came Aggreko to the rescue.
Two different configurations to cater for varying weather seasons
Aggreko delivered a customized solution with two different configurations of machinery to achieve the goals of the client across seasonal changes. First, we installed a configuration for the summer months, which was made-up of three chillers with six air handlers. Through internal sensors inside the tent and Aggreko Remote Monitoring, we managed to maintain and control the temperature to pin-point accuracy. In winter, the configuration was changed by removing one of the chillers and replacing it with a boiler. This allowed us to keep the temperature up and to the clients standards, even with extreme outside winter conditions.
Artist’s work was kept to perfect conditions
We’re able to provide flexible solutions to our customers across the world by providing modular energy, including power, cooling and heating – no matter the season. Aggreko’s modern technologies allowed for a managed temperature control inside the show, allowing the client to achieve their goals of keeping the artist’s work in perfect condition. Thanks to our solution, our client had the opportunity to hold the exhibition for the first time in the world, with 250,000 people visiting the special works.
